As of September 19, 2024, over 200 members of Teamsters Local 206 and Local 324 remain on an Unfair Labor Practice strike against Bigfoot Beverages. The company is attempting to bargain its employees out of the Western Conference of Teamsters Pension Trust, a defined-benefit pension plan, to an inferior 401(k) plan. Teamsters 206 and 324 members at Bigfoot Beverages distribute Pepsi soft drinks and craft beers from brewers like Ninkasi, Fort George, and Pelican, operating from distribution centers in Eugene, Roseburg, Newport, Springfield and Coos Bay, Oregon.
Since the strike began, Bigfoot’s management has shown no inclination to negotiate in good faith. Instead, they have unlawfully threatened striking workers with termination and permanent replacement, and have employed Fisher Phillips, a notorious union-busting law firm, to further their agenda.
“Being a good community partner starts with being a responsible employer,” stated Mark Davison, President of Teamsters Joint Council 37. “Bigfoot must prioritize the well-being of its employees by retracting this unreasonable demand that jeopardizes our members’ retirement security.”
Teamsters Joint Council No. 37 and the over 1.3 million member strong International Brotherhood of Teamsters stand in solidarity with the Bigfoot Beverages Teamsters on strike.
